OCC Mentoring Program

Mentoring—Connect, Share and Grow

The 2025 MLC OCC Mentoring program kicks off again in March this year.

Our program is a wonderful opportunity for Old Collegians to support, encourage and inspire each other – both personally and professionally – as they move through different stages in life.

We place a strong emphasis on nurturing relationships across different groups within our community of Old Collegians, and we achieve this through two in-person networking events.

Our first Meet Your Match evening will be held at MLC on Wednesday 19 March.  At the end of the night, attendees indicate who they would like to be matched with. We then do our best to match suitable pairs of mentors and mentees based on their goals, experiences and preferences.

Mentors and mentees are then provided with email support throughout the six-month program, with a suggested range of topics and questions to explore together in their one-on-one meetings (either online or in person).

At the end of the program, all participants are invited to MLC to attend our Reconnections and Reflections evening on Thursday 18 September. This is an opportunity to share some of their experiences and learnings with others.

We encourage all Old Collegians to apply – regardless of where your life’s journey has taken you so far. Over the past three years, we’ve had professionals ranging from architects to accountants, engineers to editors, police officers to programmers, sculptors to scientists and many other fields.

While there are no strict criteria for applicants, the following guidelines do apply.

  • Mentees must have completed their tertiary studies and have been working in their chosen field or their own business for at least three years.
  • Mentors should be further along in their career, having gained work and life experience, as well as having built up their skills, confidence and accomplishments.

To apply for the MLC OCC Mentoring Program, please complete the  Online Application Form.   Applications close on Sunday 16 March 2025.   For further details, please visit the OCC webpage
