Parents' Association President

Michelle Lee (Liu 1996)

The MLC OCC is proud to introduce the incoming 2025 Parents’ Association (PA) President, Michelle Lee (Liu 1996).

As an active student, Michelle threw herself into many sports and extracurricular activities. She has maintained long-lasting friendships from her school days, embodying the spirit of community and engagement that her formative years at MLC instilled in her.

Michelle’s own MLC experience was profoundly shaped by Marshmead. "Marshmead was the best experience I had at school," she reflects. "Now, as a parent, I realize what an incredible opportunity it was."

Her journey back to MLC began a couple of years ago, when her daughter started at Prep. She initially volunteered to be class liaison for Prep and Grade 1, thinking it would be good to use her experiences as an MLC Kindle parent, as well as a past MLC student, to guide new parents through the school environment.

"I wanted to be involved in school life," Michelle explains. "It's a great way to volunteer and contribute." This approach led her to become increasingly involved in the PA, where she has made wonderful friendships across different year levels.

In 2024, Michelle’s contributions to the PA were significant. As Convenor of the Junior School Parents’ Committee, she was involved in a number of initiatives that enriched the experience of the whole Junior School community, including the Parent's Celebrations for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. She was also instrumental in the successful revival of the Women Inspired Dinner and in expanding the fundraising conducted by the annual Spring Ladies’ Lunch. Under Michelle’s leadership, the Spring Ladies’ Lunch not only provided a networking and connection opportunity but focused on raising crucial funds for MLC’s Indigenous Scholarship Program. The results were remarkable – with over $40,000 for the program, double the previous year’s amount.

Michelle currently works at Viva Leisure as a project manager, where she is instrumental in opening new Club Lime facilities. She has opened sites across Victoria, with two new projects in Narre Warren and Torquay. But it is her involvement with the MLC PA that really highlights her commitment to community.

We wish Michelle much success as she steps up as the 2025 MLC Parents’ Association President.
