MLC Celebrates as the First GSV School to Secure All Four GSV Division 1 Championship Titles

MLC proudly celebrates the outstanding achievements of our Cross Country team, who secured victory in the recent 2024 Girls' Sport Victoria (GSV) Cross Country Championship. 

This achievement marks the first time MLC has claimed the Cross Country title, and truly highlights the dedication and resilience of our students.  

The team was guided by Kate Richardson, Head of Cross Country and Athletics at MLC, who brought her extensive experience as a former dual Olympian in 5km running. Kate's leadership not only contributed to the team's success but also served as a source of inspiration and guidance for our students. 

This achievement propels MLC into an exclusive category as the first GSV school to win all four GSV Division 1 Championship Carnivals, which we currently hold:  

In light of declining youth participation in sports across Victoria, it's inspiring to see students at MLC defying the trend with increased participation rates. At MLC, our commitment to fostering a healthy, active community within our school spans across our entire sports program. From College House competitions to state and international-level events, MLC’s sports program offers inclusive opportunities for every student to participate, challenge themselves, and nurture their talents, regardless of experience, age, or ability.
